About me...

My Philosophy

Women's health is personal for me. Like many of my clients, I too injured myself giving birth many years ago and had no idea that I may have been able to prevent it.  I too believed that back pain and peeing when I sneezed were "normal" during pregnancy and was told to  "live with it"  even when it didn't go away in the postpartum. And don't even get me started about menopause!!!

My philosophy is quite simple: Provide a center where women can go to receive education and compassionate personal care for a fair price for female problems that occur through the lifespan. I am inviting you to start the conversation about those private problems you haven't told your doctor, your partner, or even your best friend about and get the help you deserve. You don't have to live with it anymore!

Do You Have Any of These Problems?
Concierge PT

Here are a few reasons you might want to consider seeing me:

  • Any pain during pregnancy affecting work or ability to sleep

  • Urine leakage or need for a pad during sneezing, laughing, coughing, lifting or jogging

  • Abdominal or pelvic pain

  • Mapping out all the bathrooms before you go anywhere

  • Pain during sex

  • High risk pregnancy factors

  • Diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles) postpartum

  • Cesarean scar or other abdominal surgery adhesions

  • Difficult vaginal delivery or complications

  • Chronic constipation or fecal leakage

  • A feeling of falling out during lifting, jogging or other activities

  • Menopause-related weight gain or other problems

  • This is not an all-inclusive list!

Women's health is a specialty area of practice that takes years of education and training beyond a earning a PT degree.

Think about it, huge hormonal events influential enough to physically change our bodies occur THREE TIMES during the female lifespan: during adolescence, pregnancy and menopause. How many of you knew what was coming for any of those life markers? I sure didn't! I've been a physical therapist almost 20 years and have focused my practice in helping women in the Greater Lansing area as a board-certified women's health PT clinician. I also advocate for women as a frequent speaker and national educator to other healthcare professionals  and the community on topics related to pregnancy, postpartum, female pelvic health and the menopause transition.

Why concierge PT? It works better!

I offer my clients a level of personal service and attention that is nearly impossible under the insurance model. My practice focuses on a holistic approach with a thorough 1.5 - 2 hr exam allowing ample time to tell your story and help develop an individualized treatment approach with home program. I send a complete summary of our session with documents and videos a few days following our visit.  All my clients have personal contact information if problems or questions arise down the road. When is the last time you received that kind of service from a PT?  Clients travel from all over the state to see me, and most problems only require 1-2 visits that are often spaced out a week to a month apart. Even complicated cases, women who have been through multiple providers and are usually in pain, generally don't need to come as frequently to therapy and do well with home programs. Fewer visits, faster recovery and an excellent return on investment for a healthy recovery!
